How ASP suspensions work
The city publishes an annual calendar of planned ASP suspensions covering major legal holidays and religious holidays. These dates are known months in advance.
Snowstorms and other emergencies trigger same-day suspensions announced through Notify NYC alerts, NYC311, and @NYCASP. These can't be predicted from the annual calendar.
A suspension only pauses street cleaning. Meters stay in effect on religious holidays, and No Standing, No Stopping, hydrant, and bus lane rules never take a day off.

Never miss a suspension — or a cleaning day
The $65 street-cleaning ticket is one of the most common in NYC, and it's entirely avoidable. Spotto sends real-time Alternate Side Parking alerts before sweepers reach your block — so you move your car only when you actually need to, and never miss a suspension day you could have slept through.
